Andy Murray passes test of fitness in Battle of the Brits | Sport

Experiencing the rare honour of representing Scotland in tennis, Andy Murray had the Aberdeen crowd in raptures by digging deep to see off England’s Jack Draper in an enthralling battle on the opening night of the Battle of the Brits team event.
At 7-5 down in a deciding match tiebreak, Murray’s trademark fighting spirit came to the fore by coming back for a 6-2, 1-6, 12-10 victory. After Dan Evans had eased to a 6-4, 6-2 win against Aidan McHugh, it levelled the overall contest at 1-1 heading into today’s final two sessions.
This was a very encouraging performance for Murray, 35, after his three-week training block with his coach, Ivan Lendl, in Miami. Last month he admitted after an early exit at the Paris
