Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah posts gym update on Instagram as he steps up his return to full fitness after ankle injury

Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah gave fans a sneak peak into his recovery as he posted a picture of himself working out in the gym.

The 23-year-old picked up an ankle injury during the Gunners’ 4-0 thumping of Everton on March.

Nketiah was absent for Arsenal‘s stunning comeback win over Bournemouth on March 4 and also missed their 2-2 draw against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League last Thursday, as well as the 3-0 victory against Fulham over the weekend.

“We are assessing him [Nketiah],” Mikel Arteta said prior to his side’s win over the Cottagers. “It’s a bit uncertain what will happen with him to be honest in the training sessions.

“Let’s see, let’s keep the options open. He’s very positive about it and hopefully he’ll be fine.”

The Arsenal forward, though, looks to have stepped up his rehabilitation as he took to Instagram to post a picture on stories of him hitting the gym.

Back in January, Nketiah’s personal trainer, Chris Varnavas, explained how the forward’s incredible body transformation made him stronger.

“He’s [Nketiah] one of the best athletes we’ve got on our books in terms of his attitude and commitment. He’s just on another level,” Varnavas, Director of Athletic Development Club said.
