Oleksandr Zinchenko misses Arsenal training again
A fresh insight into the fitness of a key member of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad has been forthcoming on Sunday.
The player in question? Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The wellbeing of versatile defender Zinchenko has emerged as an increasing source of concern on the red half of north London over the last couple of weeks.
This comes after the Ukrainian was forced to sit out Arsenal’s World Cup break friendly meetings with both Watford and Olympique Lyonnais, owing to a muscular injury.
The last thing which those of an Arsenal persuasion would therefore have wanted to hear was of Zinchenko, on Sunday, missing training once again.
The Gunners are of course primed to return to Premier League action in two weeks’ time, aiming to extend their advantage atop England’s top-flight in a showdown with capital rivals West Ham.
Zinchenko, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is to be believed, should be fit and raring to go for the clash.
As per a report from Kaya Kaynak of football.london, the issue hampering the summer arrival at the Emirates is a ‘minor’ one.
Nevertheless, Zinchenko is expected to sit out Arsenal’is next friendly outing, when the north Londoners face off with Italian champions AC Milan this coming Tuesday.
Alex Zinchenko wasn’t training with the group at Al-Maktoum with the rest of the team this morning as he continues to recover from a muscle problem but #AFC still hopeful he’ll back in time for West Ham on Boxing Day.
