Postecoglou praises Celtic’s ‘fitness’ after dominant Hibs display
Ange Postecoglou has praised his side’s “fitness” after Celtic defeated Hibernian 4-0 at Easter Road.
The Scottish champions were dominant in the capital, and it is a victory which keeps them nine points clear at the top of the league table.
A double from Aaron Mooy along with goals from Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi rounded off a superb performance from the Hoops.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, the Australian said: “I am delighted for the lads. Credit to Hibs as they went for it and the crowd were also up for it.
“Both teams were going at it and we managed to stay really strong and the boys just work hard all the time irrespective of what the opposition are doing.
“I think one part of the team that is underestimated is its fitness. We are the fittest team in this competition, and we want to bring that to every game.
“I sensed that we could go for the kill in this match and the boys were up for it.”
The win puts Postecoglou’s men in a great position going into the derby against Rangers next week.

It is now 18 wins out of 19 for the Parkhead side in the Scottish Premiership this season.
However, the 57-year-old was not getting carried away at full-time.
“We are ready for every game ,” he continued. “No individual game takes on more importance for us in terms of our preparation.
“We know it is a significant game for our supporters and it is a significant game in the calendar for our league.
“It is a showcase game, and they are second and we are first. There are lots of different elements.
“However, I can assure you we will put as much effort into our preparation for this game as we would for any other fixture.”
